Here’s how it works:
Our Indie Experts’ straightforward process
1) Dixie interviews you, we confirm the book plan, time lines, content that’s already available in some form and the strategy for moving forward.
2) You’ll get chapters (usually one per week) that you can either add to, agree to, and comment on, and ideally meet to discuss briefly as the first draft is developed.
3) Typical timeline:
- First draft: approximately 3–4 months
- Review, beta reading, revision and professional editing: approximately 2–4 additional months
- Typical manuscript-to-production-ready timeframe: 6–8 months
4) Once the manuscript is approved and professionally edited, we move into production, submission or publishing — depending on the agreed strategy for your book.
At that stage you either start preparing it for production with our amazing team or with your own design and typesetting team, or we start prepping it for pitching to literary agents or traditional publishers.
This is a collaborative ghostwriting project.
You don’t disappear for six months and then receive a mysterious manuscript that sounds vaguely like someone else. We develop the book together. I do the heavy writing, but you remain involved in the thinking, stories, decisions and review.
