Certified Book Coach

Help authors to write excellent manuscripts, that can be published and used to support them in ways beyond just selling books.  Learn the fundamentals of how to work with a creative writer client, who is a special kind of person hovering between creative genius, overwhelmed content creator, and over achiever with imposter syndrome.  The author client is a  special kind of coaching client because they need so much more than just project management, understanding, and handholding.

Certified Publishing Coach

Work with finished manuscripts to guide the author through the seven stages of taking their work to publication, including marketing their books.  You’ll learn how to manage the editing, proofing, design, typesetting and publishing stages, so that your client’s book(s) have a chance of being sold, of working hard for them, and then how to get leverage on their work.

Take this quiz to see if you are well suited to being a publishing coach.

Become an AUTHOR Experts Coach

Beyond just publishing a book, a non-fiction author needs to know how to  present on stages, create and deliver workshops, podcasts, promote their brand and get their own clients to pay them for more of what they are offering as authors and speakers.  These clients need a ‘hands on marketing’ expert who understands their specific needs, with experts industry knowledge to securely guide them through this messy and often uncompromising landscape.

The Certifiable Difference

We’re aware of so many sharks in the tank when it comes to helping people with books, publising, podcasting, speaker development and workshop programs. It’s heartberaking to hear about people investing tens of thousands of dollars and endless hours scratching around for the right tools and resources for their authority journey. Often they are misguided and more confused than ever by advice given. So we’re committed to ensuring that this program is a CERTIFIED Coaching program. A Robust, Gold Standard version that raises the entire industry benchmarks.

Coaching Fundamentals

Coaching is not like training, or teaching.  It’s not mentoring either. Teachers teach methods, knowledge, and will guide students through learning specific curriculum guidelines – usually this is done over a predetermined period of time.  Trainers will usually also teach but their training is broken into short term delivery sessions.  Maybe a half day, full day or even up to a week, but in general terms, trainers are short-term focused on specific industry knowledge.

Mentors are people who may have some industry or background knowledge and experience who will help someone to find their way forward on a particular journey.  They may or may not have traversed the same paths as their mentee, but they will have wisdom and knoweldge worth sharing.

Coaches are always focused on the bigger picture. Using a sports analogy, they will help guide their clients into the right nutrition, extra training options required, the team vision, championship game, but also hold their hands when they need to push through the hard core parts of getting the job done, before resuming their place on the sidelines as a cheerleader.

Indie Experts Coaches need to know how to deliver training about specific indstry knowledge as outlined in the Author, Publishing and Experts capability modules, but they also need to know how to manage their clients. This means learning how to get the best out of a client who is nervous, disorganised, overachieving, muddled, overwhelmed or any of a range of emotions that hold them back. The coach needs to help with visioning, values, boundaries, goals, and success.  Every Indie Experts Coach therefore needs to work through a specially created Author Coaching part of this program to become a highly valued and sought after Author, Publishing, or Expert coach, due to their success and referrals.

YOUR Success is OUR Success too – we’re invested in seeing you and your clients thrive.

Business In a Box

Indie Experts Coaches also need to know how to attract and keep clients, use social media, manage and build their own brands and strategy for their businesses.  Some coaches have already been running their own businesses for a long time, and may think they don’t need to also complete this series of modules to become am Author, Publishing or Experts coach,  However, if you are to start using the many resources specially developed to give you your best chances of getting paid and growing your business as a specialist IX Coach, you will get enormous value from this part of our program.  In addition, you will need to complete this part of the program to be fully certified as an Indie Experts Coach.

FAQs

Coaching Earning Power

What might you earn as a AP/E Coach?

This depends on how many hours you wish to work and what areas you might want to specialise in. If you also have other parts to your business you wish to make coaching a part of  a 10-20 hours per week commitment might equate to an average of 5-10 clients per month.  It may also relate to 3-5 strategy sessions, or 4-6 manuscript reviews.  Any combination of these is also possible.  Sorry but it really is a wide variation of options, but you will learn how to work to your strengths, how to attract clients you most wish to work with and how the business end of being a AP/E coach works.

What fits well with AP/E Coaching?

You might already be editing and nurturing clients manuscripts but want to help with more of their writing planning or post editing phase of publishing. You could be a marketing specialist wanting to help clients achieve personal brand power by becoming authors. You might be a retiring journalist or teacher wanting to work with others who write or publish and use AP/E coaching as a means of pivoting in your career while also writing and publishing your own work.

You might also be a professional speaker wanting to supplement your income through being a high quality AP/E Coach.

Why train as  an Indie Experts Coach – can’t I just learn by going online and figuring it all out that way?

Sure you can.  But there’s so much information, mis-information, and confusion in this industry that having a great program to guide you through how to do this well, earn an income from it, and become a sought after expert in this field will be a much quicker journey if you work with us to develop your skills in a way that also complements your existing knowledge and expertise in any area relative to AP/E coaching. We are also growing Indie Experts Publishing in such a way that we’re seeking to engage a team of coaches to support the work we do and the books we publish. We also know that some publishers are seeking to work with authors who are better educated and prepared for their journey ahead by working with Author and Expert coaches too.

Lots of people can become great coaches, but training and development in this area is a worthwhile investment in growing a high income business as a coach.

One of our objectives is to get you working with your first clients within four months of starting this training program. This is to ensure you have the appropriate guidance to support you as you get going.  You’ll also be assigned to a senior coaching practitioner to ensure you have hands-on help for up to 10 hours through this program.
