Professional ghostwriters who are real human writing professionals are in demand because AI can’t top the human experience for discerning readers.
For the last few years, AI has increasingly been viewed as a huge threat to the creative industries, particularly publishing, content writing and copywriting. Many people have boasted that they’d rather commit their projects to development on Claude and ChatGPT, only to find that, in many instances, the results are unusable. And so, they end up becoming AI refugees, awash on the beaches of AI slop hugging the shores, desperate to find real human reading and writing experiences.
The rise and rise of the professional ghost-writing industry is a clear testament to the fact that AI is not the solution to effective content production, regardless of how useful it may be for strategic planning, research and even editing content. The reality is that a human being writing something is a long way from an artificially created document.
Consider it this way: You go to the movies and expect to see good acting, hear quality soundtracks and experience engaging stories told visually. It’s the same with written content – low-quality results turn people off, so they don’t stay to the end. A professional ghostwriter will go deeper, pressing their author client for the real stories and effective creative angles needed to make the reader genuinely enjoy the end result.
A well-written, structurally sound manuscript that is produced as a genuinely easy-to-read book is one that works harder to get your points across to your readers. That’s the difference. The words flow, the fonts are well considered, the spacing is deliberate and the pages are readable at the exact pace readers want to experience.
For many companies, there is an increasing need for books that represent their expertise and professional differences to be not only very well written, but also beautifully presented. The rise in the use of hardcover, gilded-edged books, packaged into sleeves or presented with beautiful jackets, is another example of how books are being used in advanced marketing techniques to position and promote market leaders. Add to that the development of key spokespeople within industries as competitive as law, medicine, finance and education, and you start to see the full circle of how authorship has once again become strategic for business.
AI might create a good-enough lead-magnet-style ebook or help you get some thoughts on paper about what should be included in your book, but it won’t be able to adequately represent the full magnificence of your stories in a way that is strategically branded to attract the new business you desire. For that, you need someone who understands the broader role that case studies and creative storytelling can play in business success. Someone who gets that you may not have the time or skills to write your own book brilliantly, but who can work with you to write and produce a book that puts your best foot forward in a crowded marketplace.
I’ve ghostwritten 15 books, included among the 300+ books I’ve helped to publish over 23 years of working as ‘The Word Witch’. My more general marketing and branding background, along with being an international Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), means I bring some unique skills to the table as a ghostwriter, collaborative writer and publishing coach. My industry observations also extend across broad experience with traditional, hybrid and self-publishing models, and I’ve got a lot to say about how each of these can work extremely well for a variety of projects.
If you’re thinking that a book, or the development of a key spokesperson in your company, might be a great way to maximize your marketing ability in 2027, then let’s have a conversation about that.
